BIOL 312 - Aquatic Community Ecology Credit(s): 4 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 3 An introduction to the organization and dynamics of the biological communities that dominate freshwater and marine habitats, emphasizing key ecological processes common to all aquatic habitats. Environmental threats to the integrity of aquatic communities and issues related to conservation will serve as a focus for readings and class discussions. The laboratory will emphasize field surveys and practical techniques, both analytical and quantitative. Participation on a field trip to a marine station is required. Restricted to Majors and Minors. Offered fall, even years.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 203 and (BIOL 204 or BIOL 216 or BIOL 223 ).
