XLRN 201 - Real World Geneseo Credit(s): 2 Lecture: 1 Non-Lecture: 2 Designed on a cultural competency model, this promotes awareness and appreciation of critical social issues through an intense experiential retreat and learning community format in which a diverse group of students explores and examines privilege, power, class, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and ableism in the larger community and on campus. Through its extension into the first half of the semester, the course brings theory to practice, integrating the transformational retreat experience with academic coursework and service-learning components.
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or higher.
