GEOG 384 - Geography of Food 2020-2021 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course introduces students to geographic patterns and issues related to food. Topics include the origin and diffusion of food crops and food products, food distribution and consumption, the environmental impacts and sociopolitical dimensions of food production, food security and food deserts, and historical as well as contemporary cultural interpretations of food. These topics are examined at different spatial scales - local, regional, national and global.
