HIST 693 - Thesis Credit(s): 4 Lecture: 0 Non-Lecture: 8
A master’s thesis is a substantial research project that is based on primary and secondary sources. The thesis should demonstrate a capacity for independent research, facility in organization and expression, and originality in thought. The thesis should be an original contribution to the scholarly field of a minimum of 50 pages. The topic of the Master’s thesis must substantially differ from that of the Bachelor’s thesis (which may have been completed in another program). A student considering completion of a thesis or project should review all guidelines with the graduate coordinator before registering for the thesis course. A student considering a thesis must be an admitted degree student and have completed all major area course requirements and foreign language expectations by the end of the semester in which the thesis is written. Students will complete two semesters of 4-credit directed studies (or 8 total credits of HIST 693 directed studies in one semester). Individual Arrangement
