ANTH 382 - Ethnographic Field Methods 2018-2019 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 In this course, students learn the science and art of anthropological field methods, including participant observation, qualitative interviews, and visual ethnographic methods. Students acquire the skills to design and conduct an individual research project on a social issue of their choosing. The course also covers topics such as the ethics of fieldwork, gender in the field, and the use of ethnographic field methods in community participatory research.
