CURR 317 - Social Studies and Curriculum Integration 2018-2019 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 2 Non-Lecture: 2 This course is designed to familiarize the student with current practices in the teaching of elementary school social studies. Emphasis will be given to the development of higher level teaching skills, particularly process-oriented models of instruction. Students will be introduced to the curriculum development process and will be expected to develop an integrative unit of instruction using a variety of resources. A practicum experience in an elementary school is required.
Prerequisite(s): CURR 213 , CURR 316 for Childhood Education or Childhood Education with Special Education; ECED 353 and ECED 355 for Early Childhood Education.
