SPAN 201 - Intermediate Spanish I: (subtitle) 2018-2019 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course reviews the fundamentals of structure and continues to develop the four language skills in Spanish (listening, speaking, reading and writing) correlated within a practice associated within the five core competency goals for foreign language learning: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. Oral and written exercises are included. Assignments include readings and news materials emphasizing cultural and contemporary topics as well as providing historical insights into the development of Spanish-speaking countries’ values and policies. As indicated by course subtitle, vocabulary and readings focus on different specialty areas that may relate to students’ interests, majors, and future professions. Students are not required to have a background in these areas to take a subtitled course.
Prerequisite(s): SPAN 102 or its equivalent. Offered: Every semester Repeatable: May be taken twice under different subtitles
