Geneseo’s Online MSA provides all accounting coursework required for CPA licensure in NYS, and has been designed to meet the NYSED requirements that become effective in 2027. The program is completely online. It can be taken full-time or part-time and completed in one, two or more calendar years. Admission is predicated on applicants having completed a BS degree in Business Administration, Management, Managerial Economics or a related field that (a) includes a minimum of six hours of accounting fundamental courses, including Introduction to Financial Accounting and Introduction to Managerial Accounting and (b) coursework in general business studies that meet NYSED requirements. The application process includes a transcript review that is designed to ensure that graduates meet all educational requirements for CPA licensure. Applicants who are short of some undergraduate business coursework may be conditionally admitted to the program and will be formally accepted only after completing the required accounting and business foundation courses.
