MUSC 304 - Music Recording and Production II

A continuation of Recording and Production I, this course addresses advanced techniques for composing and recording music in a computer-based studio and home-studio environments, including sound design and synthesis, digital signal processing, and algorithmic composition. This course combines theoretical lectures illustrated by audio examples, class discussions on specific topics, in-class recording sessions, guest lectures, professor demonstrations followed by in-class labs, and peer listening critiques of completed creative projects. The course emphasizes the application of acquired skills and knowledge in the completion of creative projects. Students will have hands-on opportunities recording and mixing for concerts in the music program.
