This microcredential is designed for students interested in editing, publishing, or literary marketing/publicity. Focusing on integrative and applied learning, students will gain skills that prepare them for careers in the publishing field.

Integrative & Applied Learning Experience
Options include: - Serving for a minimum of one semester as an editor for a campus publication other than Gandy Dancer (i.e. Recess, Iris, Her Campus, The Lamron, etc.).
- Interning for a national or regional publication, journal, press, and/or literary agency (i.e. BOA Editions, Writers & Books, Tiger Bark Press, Open Letters, Adirondack Review, The International Yeats Society Journal, Ugly Duckling Press, Harper Collins, Dystel and Goederich, Scholastic Books, International Yeats Society, etc.).
- Developing and completing a relevant directed study project with faculty supervision.
Self-Reflective Essay
Self-reflective essay at the conclusion of the applied learning experience. This assignment may be modeled on the attached IAL Writing handout. |
