Engaged English Microcredential

This microcredential allows students to highlight related integrative and applied learning experiences that they have acquired while pursuing their degree in English.

Requirements:


1. Academic content:  8 credits total 

Any 300-level course in ENGL 

AND

Any 400-level course in ENGL

 

2. Integrative or applied learning experience, selected in consultation with the faculty coordinator

 

May include: active leadership in English Club, Sigma Tau Delta, or equivalent; service toward the annual Peace Poetry event; design and implementation of a public outreach event in English; service as a departmental student representative; service as a “Speech Buddy”; active leadership in the Insomnia Film Festival; service on The Lamron; completion of the following English-related credit-bearing experiences: ENGL 493 - Advanced Project, ENGL 428 - Editing and Production Workshop II, INTD 395  - Internship, INTD 306 - Writing Learning Center Training, INTD 305 - Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, INTD 310 - McNair Summer Research Seminar, or any ENGL or FMST directed study or study abroad.  

 

3. Self-reflective statement
