CHEM 334 - Bioinorganic Chemistry Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course examines the chemistry of inorganic elements in biological systems. Topics include the role of metals in proteins and enzymes, the use of metals in drug catalytic sites or as probes for biomolecular study, metals in migration and direction sensing, minerals in nutrition and toxicity, and the biochemical effects of radioactive elements. Not offered on a regular basis.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 300 or CHEM 302 or BIOL 300 .
