ECON 240 - Introduction to Environmental Economics 2021-2022 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course provides an introduction to Environmental Economics for non-economics majors. This course will apply the tools of economic analysis to a variety of environmental issues with particular attention given to valuing the environment, cost-benefit analysis, the economics of pollution, and natural resource allocation. The course examines several definitions of sustainability commonly used in economics and the applications of those definitions. The course also studies the political economy of environmental regulation and various policy approaches to environmental issues, both regulatory and incentive-based policies are examined.
