ECON 350 - Law and Economics 2020-2021 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 The purpose of this course is to introduce to students the analysis of law from the perspective of economics. Based on the economic concepts and principles of scarcity, choice, preferences, and incentives, this course uses the microeconomic tools such as cost-and-benefit analysis, and supply-and-demand models to explain legal and political rules, firms and contracts, government organizations, and other institutions. Topics in this course include economic analysis of property law, contract law, tort liability, criminal law, and antitrust law.
Prerequisite(s): Proficiency in Basic Requirements and ECON 210 Offered: Not on a regular basis Restricted to: School of Business majors. Others may seek permission from the School of Business. Class Restriction: Junior, Senior
