EDUC 347 - Foundational Issues in Contemporary Education 2020-2021 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This seminar-style course will focus on foundational issues in contemporary education, including, but not limited to: teaching for equity; diversity and inclusion; the influence of state and federal regulation on education at the local level; the basis of proactive, engaged learning; the impact of globalization on education; and teaching for active citizenship. In the course, students will explore contemporary issues, discuss assigned topics in depth, research a specific issue, and present their findings in class.
Prerequisite(s): INTD 203 (for Childhood, Childhood with Special Education, and Early Childhood and Childhood Education majors) or permission of the instructor. Offered: Not on a regular basis
