PLSC 440 - International Law 2022-2023 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course examines how international law regulates relations between states, and between states and individuals. It explores both classical and contemporary topics such as the sources of international law, jurisdiction, the incorporation of international law into domestic law, human rights law, the laws of war, and other topics. It also addresses the role of the United Nations, the International Court of Justice and other multilateral institutions in the peaceful settlement of international disputes. The interaction between law, state power, and international politics is explored throughout the course.
