PLSC 448 - Politics of International Economic Relations 2022-2023 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 A survey of the international economy, exploring particularly the interrelationship with politics. The course introduces major theoretical perspectives in international political economy; discusses the historical development of the modern international economy; and examines the functioning of the trade, monetary, and investment systems in the post-World War II period. Challenges to the liberal international order from competition among Western economic powers, the developing world, the process of mar-ketization in centrally-planned economies, and technological change are addressed, as well as scenarios for the future.
