PASC 205 - Performance as Social Change II 2022-2023 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 4 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 2 This is a course designed for students interested in understanding the critical role arts-based performances play in facilitating and advancing social change through interdisciplinary coursework. The course will produce an experimental performance. Centering embodiment, the goal of this authentic task will be to increase awareness and enhancement of multicultural competency for audiences and community members through the communicative powers of the performing arts.
Throughout the course, students will be required to engage in academic study, research, movement and reflective practices. The course is designed with an expressed commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and racial justice. (Guest artist collaborations)
