PHIL 131 - Justice & Ethics in Modern America 2022-2023 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 Non-Lecture: 0 This course considers ethical and political challenges facing American society by asking questions about the issues such as the foundations of a just society, the legacy of slavery in the U.S., the meaning of leadership in democracies, the connection between morality and the law, the purpose of the freedom of speech, and how best to respond to injustice. The course promotes civic engagement through philosophical discussion and collaboration with faculty and mentors.
