ANTH 322 - Anthropology of Borderlands 2022-2023 Catalog Year
Credit(s): 4 Lecture: 2 Non-Lecture: 4 This course explores the border region as a space of crossing and encounter, one where people’s lives are shaped by migration and the many legal, economic, historical, and cultural factors that impact the migration experience. Course content focuses on (1) the impacts of the border and of immigration enforcement policies on the lives of migrants and long-time residents in the region and (2) movements that are focused on social transformation of the border status quo.
